Documentary My North

While the outdoor exhibition primarily offered a visual impression of the residents and their neighbourhood Tuindorp Nieuwendam in Amsterdam-Noord, the documentary delves deeper into the everyday lives and perspectives of the residents, particularly the older generation.

With humour and a characteristic Amsterdam directness, they share their stories about what is happening in their lives and in the neighbourhood. How do these residents see the changes and transformation of their district? Was everything better in the past, or are new connections emerging between residents?

Themes such as love, loss, housing shortages, dreams, standing up for oneself, and above all loneliness run like a thread through these intimate conversations.
